Shattered mirrors. Look how the light still finds the floor. This is ambient trap for the late-night reckoning, sparse 808 sub-bass and skittering hi-hats floating through reverb while glass harmonica and mournful bowed cello give the breaking its own eerie shimmer. A clean, raw vocal moves through the wreckage in a trance, cracked the glass, out came all the years, the silence now the loudest thing she hears. Not everyone gets handed a chance, some just circumstance, betrayals, trauma, bad romance, but broken don't mean you don't get a chance. Verse two peels back the polish: chrome on the outside, rust underneath, smiling for the cameras while grinding down her teeth, playing the part so long she forgot the real her, every scar a receipt for the wounds she'd seal. The hook asks the question every rebuild starts with, tell me who I am when the mirror's on the floor, and answers it in the same breath, every crack a window, every break a door, bruised and broken but still worth fighting for. The bridge lands the truth gently: maybe the breaking was the door, 'cause the light only gets in when you're broken to the core. Light in every piece she never saw before. And she's still here, for sure. Written by Pamela Arsena. Pamela Lyra on the Pamela Arsena label.
Look how the light still finds the floor... Yeah... Shattered mirrors, swallowing my fears Cracked the glass, out came all the years Every promise that I made, disappears Now the silence is the loudest thing I hear Not everyone get handed a chance Some just circumstance Betrayals, trauma, bad romance But life's a dance So I move through the wreckage in a trance Catch my own reflection, steal a glance Broken don't mean you don't get a chance Tell me who I am when the mirror's on the floor Tell me what I dreamed if the dream don't live no more Every crack a window, every break a door Shattered mirrors showing me there's something to live for Bruised and broken, but I'm still worth fighting for I was chrome on the outside, rust underneath Smiling for the cameras while I grind down my teeth Every dream I downloaded, every lie on repeat Played the part so long I forgot the real me Now the static start to clear and I'm learning to feel Peeling off the polish just to see what was real Every scar a receipt for the wounds that I'd seal Broke the perfect picture, now the broken parts heal Tell me who I am when the mirror's on the floor Tell me what I dreamed if the dream don't live no more Every crack a window, every break a door Shattered mirrors showing me there's something to live for Bruised and broken, but I'm still worth fighting for Maybe the breaking was the door... Maybe I needed to hit the floor... Everything I lost, I don't want no more 'Cause the light only gets in when you're broken to the core Shattered, shattered, picking myself off the floor Light in every piece I never saw before Shattered mirrors... and I'm still here, for sure
